A little shout-out from the folks at NAMTA! Thanks for the plug!
"Random House Inc./Watson-Guptill Publications introduces New Acrylics Essential Sourcebook: Materials, Techniques and Contemporary Applications for Today’s Artist. Scheduled to be on sale on July 14, 2009, this book has everything that an artist, from beginner to professional, needs to know for a thorough understanding of the varied ways acrylics can be used to create incredible effects. Author Rheni Tauchid, head of product development at Tri-Art, places special emphasis on documenting a variety of paint and medium combinations, showing side-by-side comparisons how such ‘recipes’ can alter and affect the final result. For more information, email ksmall@randomhouse.com or visit www.watsonguptill.com."

oh...and just to be clear...
This statement:
"RHENI TAUCHID is the head of product development at Tri-Art, a manufacturer of acrylic artist paints and mediums. An accomplished artist, she conducts workshops and lectures on acrylics throughout the United States and Canada."
is actually not true. I'm not exactly sure how my bio became this short and or this inaccurate. But as you all know, once something is out there on the internet, it's pretty much out there for good.
For accuracy's sake, I would like to set the record straight and tell you that I am not, in fact, head of product development at Tri-Art. That is actually Steve Ginsberg's job, as head dude of pretty much everything that goes on there. I help out. I lend my voice, perform tests, give suggestions, and have my finger in a few of the pies there....but just my finger, not my whole hand, and it's not my pie either.
The rest of the brief bio is more or less fine. Although rather than use the word "accomplished", I think "sporadic" is more factual, given that I've been spending the last several years writing and promoting books and not spending nearly as much time painting as I ought to be. That will be changing...my studio is nearly completely set up at home and I look forward to continuing my acrylic adventure therein.

Was advertising the Wallack's booklaunch as taking place at the Bank street location, when it will, in fact, be at the Nepean location. I have amended the original post which now has the correct information. Sorry about that and hope to see you there!

Reviews, Testimonials...Bring it on!
Book publicity, I have found, is a tricky and murky thing. Having stumbled into authorship quite by accident and finding that daunting (but fun), I'm going to give self-promotions a go, and see where that takes me.
I could count on the success of the first book to shine it's glow on the second thereby giving it a head start by mere association...realistically, however, I'm neither that presumptuous nor that optimistic. Which brings me to the point of this entry. Time to put together an enticing, zippy, and utterly impossible to dismiss press kit! The thought of it exhausts me already, but I'm counting on my research skills and obsessive cataloging of reader feedback to help with the initial outlay.
Should any of you kind readers feel that you have some words to contribute to this endeavor, I would be ridiculously thrilled, and extremely grateful.
